MetaCarta Labs offers experimental tools that are not yet commercially supported, so they may disappear without warning or perform erratically. If something's not working, please try it again later.
MetaCarta Labs has assembled a collection of demos which can be run with no external dependencies. With a MetaCarta Labs USB stick, you simply insert the USB drive into the USB port, and double click the 'run' script for your platform to start up a local web server. Platforms which have been tested are OS X, Linux, and Windows. Python is a prerequisite: Python for Windows is included, for users using that platform. (Python isn't included for any other platform because they should already have it.)
The following downloads include a Python installation for Windows. Even if you don't have Python installed, you should be able to run these. Files are ~23MB.
The following downloads include everything except the Python install and map tiles. The downloads are ~9MB -- this includes the videos mentioned below.
Demos marked 'No internet required' will work with no external dependencies: mapping data for these demos is included on the USB stick.
