Never heard of it? OpenStreetMap is a free wiki-based map. Led by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, an international non-profit organisation dedicated to encouraging the growth, development and distribution of free geospatial data and to providing geospatial data for anybody to use and share, the map is user-generated, using GPS tracks as the basis for mapping out the streets of cities and towns around the world. OSM up-to-date is a bookmarklet you can use to see the most recent status of the database.
